: Manual work
Discuss whether you recognize the following statements:
- We work in work situations that can lead to unfortunate working postures. For example, it can be cramped and difficult to get to when we need to change or repair components in the engine compartment and under the dashboard.
- We often work on our knees or knees, or with our hands above shoulder height.
- We often lift heavy and/or in uncomfortable positions, for example when changing tires.
- We work standing and walking on hard concrete floors for much of the day, and the floor can also be slippery at times.
- Some tasks are easy, but when we do them several times or combined with other tasks, the strain over time can become too great.
- We do not have appropriate work equipment. For example, the equipment may be old, worn, heavy or have a high vibration level.
- We have available aids, but we do not use them when we do our work. For example, we may opt out of them when we are short on time.
- We do not have routines for maintenance of work equipment and aids.
- We have not received information and talked about how manual work can affect our body, and what we can do to avoid ailments.
- We have not talked about how we can prevent musculoskeletal disorders through physical activity, for example by doing small exercises during the working day.
- We are exposed to vibrations through the use of handheld tools in our work, and we have not had training in the appropriate use of the body during this work.
- We often use screen equipment in our job, such as diagnostic tools for troubleshooting and repairs.
- We do not prioritize putting on the right protective equipment so that we ensure safety and good working postures.
- We have not received sufficient training in how we should use our bodies in our jobs, for example when lifting, heavy work and using work equipment.
